The Protection Bureau Presents Education Scholarship Awards For 2013-2014

[Exton, PA] (July 2013) – The Protection Bureau awarded seven scholarships for 2013 – 2014. In light of the tenuous economic condition of the world today, the company is very proud to be able to continue this program for the ninth consecutive year, to help this generation further their education.

In 2005, the Education Fund was established by Keith and Mary Ladd, owners of The Protection Bureau, for the benefit of children of current employees who enroll in formal programs for post-high school education. “This project was one that was close to Keith’s heart. He would be very happy to know that we’ve been able to continue it”, stated Mary Ladd.

Initially, an anticipated distribution of four awards per year (up to $1,000 each) were planned. Recipients are selected each June/July for the ensuing school year, helping to defray the cost of tuition and/or books. This year seven scholarships were awarded to families in the office for students attending colleges and universities.

A panel of three independent judges received unopened applications and made decisions with no input from the company other than to verify eligibility of the applicants. These awards are entirely outside the control or influence of company management.

Company owners Keith and Mary Ladd began the “Education Fund” in 2005 to help teens of staff members further their education and defray the cost of tuition and/or books.

“This project was one that was close to Keith’s heart. He would be very happy to know that we’ve been able to continue it,” Mary Ladd says.
